Coron birding is largely centered around Capaya Creek Kingfisher Preserve with good reason. However, Capayas and its immediate surroundings is not the only place to bird in Coron. For the second day of our two-day bird tour, we explored other areas. and these were our captures.

An unidentified raptor. According to two experts that I consulted, this is probably a migrant species but the poor quality of the photo makes it difficult to positively ID

Back in Capayas after lunch, it was the turn of the Rufous-backed Kingfisher to hold court.

Before calling it a day we did another walk around Capayas for a chance at the Blue-eared Kingfisher but it was a no show. We did see it earlier in the day at YKR but only a fly-by.

Our last stop was the reclaimed area for a chance at the White-bellied Sea Eagle but it was also a no show. All in all it was a good two days and our guests enjoyed their birding in Coron.
