Exploring new genres in photography led me to the new Binondo Bridge last April 16, Black Saturday. According to wikipedia:
The Binondo–Intramuros Bridge is a tied-arch bridge in Manila, Philippines that spans the Pasig River. It connects San Fernando Street in Binondo and Muelle de la Industria in San Nicolas to Solana Street and Riverside Drive in Intramuros. The bridge has four lanes and exhibits a steel bowstring arch design with inclined arches. It has a length of 680 meters (2,230 ft)
The bridge is a part of the 500 million renminbi (₱3.6 billion) infrastructure grant by China under the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation, which was agreed upon by China and the Philippines following a state visit of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte to China in May 2017. On June 22, 2017, the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Chinese embassy signed a Minutes of Discussion regarding the full grant and financing the construction of the bridge
Looking at the awesome photos posted in social media made me want to try it too. My companions for this shoot included Ed Santos, Conrad Olayres, and Ven Rojas. At the site, we met Robert Lim and his family and later on master Jojo Duenas. Shooting sunsets and urban scapes requires a different discipline from shooting wildlife and I will be the first to admit that I need more practice. Nevertheless, I would like to share the images that I was able to create from my DSLR as well as my cellphone
And of course the BTS photos, courtesy of Ed Santos and Robert Lim
This experience left me wanting to try other photography genres. Hopefully, I will have other opportunities.
